Shrimp Scampi
with French Chardonnay
Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup dry Masterchef France Chardonnay (white wine)
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Crusty bread, for serving
Method
- Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, roughly 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook until aromatic, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, scraping the bottom of the pan to loosen any browned bits. Bring to a boil and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the butter and parsley until the butter is melted, and the sauce is well combined.
- Return the shrimp to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce. Serve hot with crusty bread or over pasta.
