Shrimp Scampi
with French Chardonnay

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry Masterchef France Chardonnay (white wine)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Crusty bread, for serving

    Method

    • Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, roughly 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
    • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook until aromatic, about 1 minute.
    • Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, scraping the bottom of the pan to loosen any browned bits. Bring to a boil and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
    • Stir in the butter and parsley until the butter is melted, and the sauce is well combined.
    • Return the shrimp to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce. Serve hot with crusty bread or over pasta.
